Replies To Questions

In this week, I was asked two questions by njcian and Anonymous. Didn't have the time to reply until now. I decided to answer these two questions in this post as when I read the questions, I knew my answers are gonna be long...lol. Good? Bad? You decide. Anyway, If I post my long answer in my tagboard, it won't be good as I will be spamming my own board and my answer will take up a large portion of it. As for the question by Anonymous I found it interesting. After reading his/her question, I knew that my answer for his/her (sorry but I don't know if Anonymous is a guy or girl) is gonna be longer. Why? I guess I have more things to say in relationships rather than school stuff...lol.

Onto the two questions. I will answer njcian's first as he/she asked first. Simple.

njcian:

well, thx for those wise words. sounds like the seasons thing frm ecclesiastes...i cant believe one would rmb stuff lyk the photocopy rm, tght such memories will fade. as to jc life, it really is so short. and the peoplei met, soo many but so transcient. and all the wrong and right steps. was jc a significant part of your life? aye, why am i posting here, cos some questions just accumulated at this crossroads, to a pt that i need to search for ans, and such ans only a senior senior wil understand. thx.
To njcian:

You are welcome. I won't really say that my words are wise as sometimes I really say stupid things...lol. I won't elaborate on that point.

Ah...so you know Ecclesiastes. Interesting. So I guess you are either a Christian or Protestant or just some person who has read the Bible. True. There's a time for everything. We have heard how "all good things must come to an end" (if you are enjoying yourself) and "look at the light at the end of the tunnel" (if you are suffering). Nevertheless, the message is clear - there's a time for everything.

Lol...I remember the photocopy room which is near the library as there the room is full of this strange smell. I don't know if it's toner or some weird area-of-effect aura from the photocopying auntie. Anyway, I remembered that one of them was pregnant once and I don't think breathing in all those toner dust is really good. You know, now that you mentioned it, I am surprised why did I remember the photocopying room? Others would say the track or the squash court or the school hall, but my answer was the photocopying room...lol...it made me sound like a geek or nerd or someone who breathes in toner dust for a living.

Is JC life really short? Different people have different views to this. I know of some people who dread their JC life that the 2 years (hm...sounds like NS...lol) seemed forever. On the other hand, there are people who loved JC so much that time just seems to fly past. Personally, I felt that it was neither too fast nor too slow. I guess to each his/her own.

Was JC a significant part of my life? Hm...I would say yes. Why? I met very interesting people there. In class, I sat with two other boys in the front row and people would call us "The Three Musketeers". I am not sure whether we were able to fence and save damsels in distress but we sure could talk crap and made people laugh. We said a lot of stupid and lame stuff, but we did enjoy ourselves. Then there was Project Work. I was placed in a group with four other girls. I love the time spent together. No, it's not because I was with four girls but rather, the time spent was fun. We laughed and cracked jokes (okay maybe it was mostly me who cracked but nevertheless, it was memorable). Those were the days.

It's okay njcian, feel free to post more questions, then I will have more things to put in my blog :P (Shucks my eyes are dots and my tongue is shaped like a P...this is bad). Anyway, It's normal to search for answers, for through it, you learn.

Last but not least, study hard and do well for your A Levels :)

Regards,
Steph

Anonymous:

wow impressive for a 13 year old ! though the whole aunty part made me laugh so hard ! loL

from reading your blog ... you seem like the traditional kind of guy, am i right ? so i want to know your opinion on something ... if you dont mind ... ?

would you ever be with someone who 'cheated' on their bf to be with you ? and by cheat, i use it VERY broadly e'g even if they didnt do anything with you while they were still with their bf, it still counts if they simply broke up with their bf for you

would you want to be with someone who did that ? and waht are your general thoughts on this issue ? just out of interest =P
To Anonymous:

Yes, the poem is pretty impressive. I couldn't believe it when I read that it was a 13 year old who wrote it. Haha...I am glad you enjoyed the "Rude Aunties" post. I had much fun writing it. You will be surprised as to what certain Singaporean aunties can do...it's just...stunning.

Lol...yes yes you are right. You can say that I am a traditional kind of guy. No, I don't expect my girlfriend to wear a cheong sam every time we go out nor do I dress like my grandparents, but yes I am traditional. Once, I have a friend who commented that I should be born 2 decades ago instead of my actual birth date, I guess he was just trying to say that I am traditional...lol. Now this is interesting that you would want to know my opinion on relationship matters. I am honored. Well, I don't mind, so please go on.

(Remember that my answers may not really be right or wrong. They are just my opinions formed by what I see in life. If you find them logical and true then good, else you can just treat my answers as reading material to kill time...lol.)

Ah...I see. So this is a relationship kind of question. Would I ever be with someone who "cheated" on their boyfriend to be with me? Then it depends on certain factors.

1. What does "cheat" mean?

"Cheat" is a taboo word in a relationship because there should be trust and confidence in the other person. This trust and confidence can be destroyed by cheating. After a "cheat" has occurred, there may be problems in the relationship unless the couple is willing to work through it. Does "cheat' mean stealing pencils from his pencil box? Or does it mean two-timing him? And if a girl is able to cheat a boy, it doesn't really reflect very well on the girl does it? Of course she may have her reasons which I do not know, but still, cheating in a relationship is seen as a very bad thing to do.

2. What made the girl change her mind?

Is her current boyfriend very different from her new one? If no, then why would she break up with him? Okay, we must also be fair to the girl side. Maybe she can't stand the first boyfriend. Maybe he's too protective or doesn't have much time for her...etc, then it won't be a surprise that a breakup would occur sooner or later. I guess if this is the case, then it's okay, but one may ask her why would she go with him in the first place? Maybe she didn't know that her first boyfriend would be like that in the early part of the relationship but changed as the relationship goes on. If that's the case, then you can't blame the girl can you? She didn't expect it to happen. Hence it is very important to really understand the other person before going into a relationship with him/her. This way, it will really save you a lot of trouble.

3. Does she really love me?

If yes, and if there is a future for the relationship, then I guess going ahead may be okay. You will be surprised how strong love can be.

After reading on, I guess the problem is that she is leaving her first boyfriend for you (I maybe wrong yeah, so please don't take it to heart). It's good that there wasn't "anything done" while she is still with her boyfriend. At least the respect for the first boyfriend is still there.

One very big question I would have if I am with a girl who broke up with her boyfriend for me would be this: Would she do the same to me? If she could break up with a boy for me, she could also break up with me for another boy. Personally, this is one big question I would have. Others may have other big questions but for me, this is the one that I would need to think over before deciding.

Of course, it is very hard to find a girl/boy who has never had a boyfriend/girlfriend before getting married with another guy/girl. What I am saying is that when she (reference to your question) broke up with her current boyfriend to be with you, be very sure that her eyes are really opened and that the both of you are able to see a future in the relationship between the both of you.

As they say, "the past is past, but it can still come back and haunt". Nevertheless, if the couple is willing and truly love each other, the past will just be a speck of dust in a journey they are about to travel together on the road called "Life".

So Anonymous, I hope that my long answer (it maybe long, but if it's full of nonsense, then it doesn't really help does it...lol) is able to help you. If you still have questions or doubts, feel free to leave a comment and tag, but try to say something that differentiates you from the other "Anonymous" comments I received, else I won't know which "Anonymous" you are...haha.

In conclusion, all I have to say is think hard and see if you are really serious in this girl and whether she is really serious in you. Her first boyfriend maybe a relationship that didn't turn out the way she had expected. Don't blame her for breaking up because the first boyfriend may have changed a lot during the relationship. If you really see a future for the both of you, accept her for who she is and love her.

Regards,
Steph

If You Really Love Me

Actually, I didn't plan to post anything today. However, something happened just now and I feel that I had to share it with everyone. It was...(how should I put it)...touching.

I was reading a book I borrowed from the library and in one of the stories, there was this poem titled "If You Really Love Me". It was written by Celine Marie F. M. (Age 13).

Here it goes:
If You Really Love Me

If you really love me,
You'll treasure me like a jewel.
I'll know you're not playing around,
I'll know you're not a fool.

If you really love me,
You'll wait for our wedding day.
You'll keep yourself pure,
Not throw yourself away.

Your eyes will not search
For things they should not see.
You'll keep your thoughts moral,
And save yourself for me.

You'll talk to my parents,
And keep your promise true.
You'll love me for me,
And I, you for you.

When you take me out,
Your hands won't cross the line.
I'll know that I'm yours,
And you'll know that you're mine.
Whoa...I can't believe what this girl has written! It is very sincere, honest and mature. And mind you, she's only 13! It's the first time I've encountered such a form of true love. It was very touching.

After reading it, I placed the book down and thought deep...

In the first stanza, the girl is asking for the guy to treasure her so that she'll know he is serious and not flirting around. This shows that the girl enters a relationship not for fun, but enters it seriously.

In the second stanza, the girl values marriage and doesn't believe in pre-marital *ahem* (I have a young cousin reading my blog, so must try to be...discreet). I guess she believes that *ahem* is only for married couples.

In the third stanza, the girl asks that the guy keeps his heart pure; that his heart will only hold her and no one else. in short, she's asking him to be faithful.

In the fourth stanza, the girl wants her parents to be involved in her relationship with the guy. She wants the guy to meet her parents. This is to allow her parents to know the kind of guy she is going out with and who knows, he may be their son-in-law. She hopes that he will accept for for who she is and she will do the same.

In the fifth stanza, the girl asks for a clean relationship. One that doesn't involve "catching" or some childish primary school games like "teasing" and stuff.

Finally, she ends her poem by letting him know that she's his and he's hers. Now one interesting point is that she said that she's his before saying he's hers. From here we can see that this love is not a selfish one where she wants only him, but one where she really believes in, and more importantly, a relationship where she is ready to devote herself into.

What can I say...this girl is really mature for a 13 year old. This is the best love poem I have read so far in my life. It's clean, pure, sincere, honest, mature and full of love.

These were the thoughts I had. After my "deep though" session, I looked in front and I see an auntie looking at me with the "buay song" (not happy) face. It was a real SPOILER. I realized my stop was near and quickly got of the bus.

Lesson learn:

1. There are people who still believe in true love (one that is clean and pure) despite society's declining moral stand.

2. Never ever read a poem such as this in front of an auntie. It will really spoil the mood.

(Note: The book was borrowed from Jurong Regional Library. It is titled "Real Teens, Real Stories, Real Life" by T. Suzanne Eller.)

300 Parody - United 300

I am quite busy recently with work and OTs, so I don't really have the time to update my blog regularly, but I will try to post at least one post per week.

Anyway, if you have seen the show "300" (the one with the Spartans against the army of Xerxes), you will like this parody (or so that's what I think. I may be wrong). Enjoy :)

Rude Aunties

I guess it's part of life. Every now and then, you will meet up with rude people. There are those who cough out phlegm and spit on the road (art?), those who cut queues and those who send spam emails. These are just a few of the rude things you may encounter in life.

A few weeks ago, there was this very amazing thing that happened. I think it happens to very few people on this globe, and at most only once. If you seen it twice or more, then I guess you can boast about it (if you want to that is).

I was in the bus 198 on my way to NUS. As usual, the bus was crowded. I don't know how are we going to have 6.5 million people especially when the buses can't even handle 4 million. I guess somehow, space will be made. Anyway, the bus was crowded. I stood near the exit of the double-decker 198.

The bus reached a particular stop and the exit door opened and people walked out. The people outside looked at how crowded the bus was and most of them gave up. The bus driver was kind and decided to open the front entrance. So it was I-squeeze-you-squeeze-and-we-all-get-stuck.

Now there was this very interesting auntie. As I have mentioned, I was standing at the exit. The exit door was opened for people to get out. However, there was this Super Amazing Auntie (SAA) that jumped from outside into the bus through the exit! Wow! Sadly there was no encore. I guess for that period of time, the exit became the entrance....for her. She jumped and landed in front of me. I was looking at her. She had the sorry-arh-paiseh look. I was wondering whether she would tap her EZ-Link card or get a free bus ride. She looked at the EZ-Link reader. I looked at it also. Sadly, it had the "No Entry" sign, meaning that you can't pay.

The SAA tried to squeeze to the front to pay (at least that's what I think). However, the crowd was simply to much even for SAA. So she ended up having a free bus ride.

Okay, maybe she was not rude, but still she got a free bus ride.

Now the following example is even better. When I saw this happening, I almost fainted. Okay, maybe not faint, but you know what I mean.

I was meeting my friend for the recent Tea Party that MSE held last Saturday. We went to Food Junction near City Hall MRT to eat. I ordered my food and sat down. Then my friend went to order his food.

Beside us was this couple (I think so). The girl was seating along my row and the guy was seating along my friend's row (my friend was seating in front of me). I was waiting for my friend to buy his food and this girl was waiting for the guy to buy his food. Then it happened.

There was this auntie who came over to the girl with a bowl of pulut hitam (a kind of dessert). This conversation followed.

Auntie: Excuse me, is anyone seating here?

Before the girl could answer anything, the auntie sat on the seat that was for her guy friend! And that's not all, wait for the auntie's killer move.

Girl: Er...sorry, but my friend is seating there.

And so she made her MOVE.

Auntie: Huh? Oh okay. Sorry but I seat already and so I can't move. Hehe *smile*.

Girl: -_-

Me: -_-

No, my face didn't transform suddenly into three lines but I almost fainted! I looked at the girl and she looked stunned. I looked at the auntie and she was smiling (maybe the pulut hitam was nice?). I looked away.

What kind of lame excuse is "Sorry but I sit already cannot move?". Seriously man, I think her killer move totally burnt the char siew I was eating. Yes, it was that deadly.

Then the girl's guy friend came. So what did he do? He sat beside her. That seat was supposed to be for one person, but because of some kung fu master having her pulut hitam, two people had to sit on that one-seater. Maybe they like it? Maybe it's cozier for them? Haha...I don't know. Or maybe, they are brother-and-sister? Then I guess there is nothing cozy then.

After it happened, I gave the kung fu auntie the benefit of doubt. Maybe she has some sickness that doesn't allow her to stand for too long? It does happen. I guess if that's the case, then things won't be so bad after all. It's just that when it happened at that time, it's easy to be angry. However, if the auntie wasn't sick but just trying to be funny, then I guess she failed, because no one laughed. Kinda reminds me of how bad my jokes are when no one laughs. At least I don't sit at other people's seat and smile and give reasons like "This....seat...is...calling out to me. Mwahaha!"
